Fun In The Making

Spring themed classes

Spring nest building is so much fun!

Menu of Projects:

Class and workshops can be designed around the following projects but are not limited by them. In other words, this is an incomplete list of the projects that I offer. In addition I’m open to suggestions if a student has his or her heart set on something.

Tea Cup Mouse

Making your own charming Tea Cup Mouse is easier than you think. I designed this project to be suitable for beginner sewers as well as more advanced sewers.

Recycled Wool Coat Needle and Stitch Book.

Practice basic hand sewing and learn how to sew on buttons while making your own stitch / needle book. Students will take their books home and have a place to store sewing needles for future projects.

Make your own pant leg pouch sewing classes.

Protective Sketchbook Pouch orVersatile Purse Made From Recycled Pant Leg

This project involves a little bit of machine sewing, a little hand sewing and a lot of creativity.

Recycled Sweater Beach Ball Pillows

Charming Mushroom Pincushions

These muchrooms are made with recycled shirts and wood.

Bring: (Optional) T-shirts or sweaters (not new) the color you would like your mushroom and mushroom spots.

Provided: needles, thread, scrap fabric of a variety of colors, wood stumps, jar lids, stuffing.

Braided Rug

Bring: bring bed sheets (don’t buy new, bring your old sheets or find second-hand), choose the color(s) of your choice.

Learn to braid and then sew together a rug of your very own. It is made from sheets or scrap fabric.

Table Cloth For Two With Matching Napkins Made From Dad Button Down Shirts

bring: two dad button down t-shirts or one dad button down t-shirt and a piece of scrap fabric of a complimentary color and approximate size. This should be a shirt that dad doesn’t want anymore. Often stains can be worked around. The bigger the shirt the better so you may want to look elsewhere for XL shirts.

Transform an outgrown dress or find some fun dress to convert into an apron. Quick and fun!

Bring: dress of your choosing.

Spring Nest Building

In this class for adults, you will have fun making your own sweet bird’s nest. These nests have all the charm of natural bird’s nests so you can leave the real ones for the birds. They are lovely as centerpieces in a garden wedding or for spring decorating.

Fairy houses

Children will stroll into our enchanted forest, follow the path looking for natural building materials, and build a home for our forest dwelling fairies.

Can Robots

Build a robot of your own design. Bring: all sorts of bits to use and to share.

Paper Making

We will recycle paper into beautiful new pieces of paper perfect for stationary.

Pieces of flowers etc.can be added for added beauty.
