• "Green" Living

    • Freecycle “is made up of 4,871 groups with 6,855,000 members across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills
    • Freegle It seems that England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales have started their own distribution system for unwanted / wanted free items. It functions similar to Freecycle.org. Think of all the usable stuff that would be wasted if it weren’t for easy to use program
    • How can I recycle this? “ we’ve covered over 600 items and had over 8500 suggestions of ways to reuse, repurpose or recycle things that would otherwise go in the bin.” Just like FunInTheMaking, Recyclethis is helping people to rethink their trash; overall just be less wasteful.
    • Tiny Choices Tiny Choices, written by Karina and Jenn, is filled with posts that make us think about the little choices we make daily. One post reminds us to consider what is in our shampoo while another post will make us consider the impact of a new shower curtain.
  • Eco-Friendly Craft Blogs

    • Blah to Tada If you’re looking for even more re-purposed craft ideas you must check out blah-to-tada.blogspot.com. (Apparently we think alike.) Claire already has accumulated a nice collection of re-uses since she started in January of 2009. Posts range from repurposi
    • Crafting A Green World Its writers will give you recycled, reused do- it- yourself project ideas. It’s definitely worth checking out. Find knitting, sewing, crocheting, and other project ideas for eco-friendly and fashionable clothes, crafts, gifts and more.
    • Zakka Life This site has a category for recycled crafts. Jessica Okui is clever indeed. One of my favorites is this post that uses a medicine bottle to hide a spare key underground. http://zakkalife.blogspot.com/2009/01/craft-project-key-hider.html
  • Eco-Friendly Craft Collectors (These sites direct you to cool projects etc. from around the web)

    • Craft Gossip’s Recycled Crafts Stefanie Girard finds us more fun things to make out of recycled materials. What are you waiting for? Check it out.
    • Recyclart “The goal of Recyclart.org is to bring you good products that are made from re-cycling, re-using, up-cycling,etc.” I’ve enjoyed looking at all the ingenious re-uses. Inspiring!
    • The Crafty Crow Over the past year, several projects from Fun In The Making were featured on The Crafty Crow (a children’s craft collective). Of course the part I like the best is their recycled craft category. Check it out for even more craft inspiration!
